Meet Marty, Owner and Head Instructor

Studio owner, Marty Voight first began teaching ballroom dancing in 1978 while studying music at UW-Eau Claire. He purchased East Towne Ballroom in 1991.

Marty was a professional and pro/am competitor on a national level and continues to compete and perform with his students.

He is a NDCA and NADTA certified instructor and adjudicator in all styles. Teaching has always been Marty's passion and his fun and easy style is a hallmark of his success as a life-long career instructor.

Matthew kusak

East Towne Ballroom differs from other studios in that all additional instructors are independent contractors who set their own hours and rates. Keep scrolling to read the bios of all the current teachers who instruct at East Towne Ballroom. 

Being born and raised in Milwaukee, Matthew has immense love and respect for the area. He also takes great pride in being a versatile teacher for his students. No matter your goals in dance, he will take you there. 

Matthew has been teaching ballroom dance since 2007 and is certified in all styles of ballroom. He has also been top teacher at many events around the county and his students find great success wherever they go. His passion for teaching people to dance creates engaging lessons that leaves students smiling. 

Suzana GOSSETT

Suzana provides ease of learning for all levels of dance, tailoring your lesson experience to your goals. She is well known for her choreography, bringing to life a vision of inspired movement to music. With her passion to change lives with dance, Suzana is driven to fulfill your dance aspirations. 

Suzana is a Certified Dance Teacher & Professional Competitor in both American and International Styles of Ballroom & Latin Dance, as well as Exhibition & Theatre Arts; registered with the National Dance Council Of American (NDCA) and the North American Dancesport Teachers Association (NADTA).

Michelle Guthrie

Michelle is a two-time Amateur US National Ten-Dance Champion, a US representative to the World Games, and a Professional US National Ten-Dance Finalist. 

Michelle has been dancing most of her life -- starting with tap, jazz, ballet, and Hawaiian – and teaching since age 14. She picked up ballroom dance over 20 years ago while earning her MBA and went on to own and operate two dance studios – one in Indianapolis, one in Milwaukee. Having retired from competition in 2016, Michelle now loves teaching and choreographing, and can often be found swing dancing out and about in Milwaukee.



Olga Boneva Melnyk

As a dance teacher, Olga’s focus is not only to teach how to dance but also to help to discover
more about body movement, coordination and body intelligence in general. She thinks the most
important thing is to express yourself using dance and movement as a tool. Olga loves teaching students of any level and age!

Her dance journey started back in 1995 in Ukraine. Since then she became Ukrainian Ballroom & Latin Dance Champion, International Ballroom & Latin Finalist as well as United States American Smooth
Finalist. Olga competed against the best dancers at Blackpool Dance Festival in 2004, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2012 as well as the Dutch Open in 2005 and UK Championships in 2007.
